Active noise and vibration control systems
The Stractive system developed by Hutchinson Paulstra is an active noise and vibration control technology that uses sensors and electrodynamic actuators to generate counter-phase forces to dynamically compensate for vibrations produced by engines, generators, and onboard systems. Unlike traditional passive solutions, active control allows for particularly effective intervention at low frequencies, where conventional systems perform less well. This translates into greater cabin comfort, reduced structure-borne noise, and improved performance of sensitive equipment such as sonar and precision instrumentation.
