About us
USI ITALIA – Industrial coating solutions for the nautical sector.
For over fifty years, USI ITALIA has been designing and manufacturing high-performance coating systems for industry. Founded in the heart of Made in Italy, the company is now an international benchmark in the design of customized systems for coating, drying and surface treatment, with applications ranging from the automotive to the shipbuilding industry.
In the nautical sector, USI ITALIA offers its engineering and design expertise to create tailor-made solutions that meet the specific needs of shipbuilding and refitting, guaranteeing paint film quality, energy efficiency and operational safety.
Our spray booths and preparation areas are designed to optimize workflows, improve the quality of the final result and reduce process times, even in the presence of large surfaces or composite components typical of the maritime world.
Thanks to an approach that combines technological innovation, automation and sustainability, USI ITALIA supports its customers in the transition to smarter, more environmentally friendly painting processes.
At the SEAQUIP trade fair in Milan, USI ITALIA presents its vision of painting 4.0 for the nautical sector, where industrial design, digitalization and performance come together to create tailor-made systems, designed to last over time and guarantee production excellence.

PAINT MIXING ROOMS
For marine painting (topcoat, primer, gelcoat and antifouling cycles), the Mixing Room is a dedicated, ‘closed’ environment where paints can be prepared in complete safety and with maximum cleanliness: filtered fresh air at the entrance and continuous extraction to remove vapours, so that the operator can work better and the mixture remains free of contaminants that can ruin the glossy finish. The ventilation is designed to be optimal and the lighting is highly efficient with accurate colour rendering, useful when you need to match colours and metallics on hulls and superstructures. Modular structure in double-walled insulating panels, available in 15 configurations and can be integrated with the cabin (also via a vestibule where required) to keep dust and dirt out of the paint.

PROF-XL MULTIFUNCTIONAL AREAS
In the high-end nautical sector, the difference lies in invisible details: cleanliness of the environment, process stability and air flow control. The PROF-XL multifunctional areas are modular workstations designed for yacht and superyacht shipyards, ideal for the preparation and finishing of large surfaces such as hulls, superstructures, hard-tops, composite components, wheelhouses, hatches and structural modules. PROF-XL creates a dedicated area where work becomes more precise and repeatable: sanding and smoothing, preparation for painting, technical cleaning and typical refit activities. The result is a more uniform surface, with less risk of contamination and a quality consistent with the highest expectations. Thanks to its modularity, the configuration adapts to the layout of the shipyard (refit bays, accesses, overhead cranes, platforms). The structure can be suspended and anchored to the roof to free up floor space and increase practicality, or self-supporting for maximum installation flexibility. Space separation solutions help contain dust and particulates, protecting the finish during critical phases. Partitions can include inspection windows and sliding or motorised versions for moving components without interrupting the operational flow. The system can be configured with floor suction (maximum effectiveness in containment over large areas) or wall suction (when less invasive interventions are preferred). Optional ‘yacht-ready’ features such as high-performance LED lighting, hot air compensation, air recovery with bypass, centralised suction for sanding and IR dryers on suspended guides complete the set-up. With PROF-XL, preparation becomes standard: more control, less variability, more consistent finish.

CARGO PAINTING SOLUTIONS
Cargo is an Extra-Large spray booth/painting system designed for oversized parts and fully tailored to the project. Its modular, self-supporting structure allows it to be scaled up in size and installed either as a stand-alone solution or integrated into existing production lines. Adapted to the marine sector, it becomes a controlled environment for finishing boats and hulls (even very large ones), where air and lighting management can be made “smart”: ventilation and lighting can work in a follow-me logic, activating only in the area where the painter is working—improving finish quality while reducing energy consumption. It also focuses on optimal air and temperature control (AIR BLUE 2.0) and, when needed, can be equipped with options such as cooling and humidity control—particularly valuable for achieving consistent, repeatable marine-grade finishes.
