Nord Compensati Srl
About us
For over fifty years, we have been transforming wood into excellent nautical solutions.
Our history dates back to 1918, when the Vergani family began its wood trading business. In the 1950s, we chose to specialize in the production of marine plywood, and in the 1990s, high-performance sandwich panels. Today, thanks to constant growth, we have a production facility spanning over 15,000 m² and a team of passionate professionals.
Firmly rooted in our territory, we collaborate with the most prestigious brands in the industry and are a benchmark for Made in Italy. Our mission is clear: to shape innovation. We design and manufacture materials that combine performance, aesthetics, and quality, supporting our customers with consulting, technical support, and customized solutions.
In our R&D laboratories, we create the highest-quality panels, combining craftsmanship and technology. We use cutting-edge machinery and invest in innovation to meet the most complex challenges: lightness, strength, acoustic insulation, safety, and design.
We believe that innovation and sustainability must go hand in hand. We use eco-sustainable materials, power part of our production with green energy, and adopt low-impact processes, including formaldehyde-free bonding systems.
Our history is built on passion, research, and dedication. With the same enthusiasm that has guided us for over a century, we continue to look forward, transforming every challenge into an opportunity for innovation and excellence.

High precision sectioning
Panels are sectioned to the desired size, according to customer specifications

Veneer splicing
The veneer sheets, after being trimmed, are coated along the sides with special glue on both sides. They are then fed into the splicing machine, which joins them together until a sheet of the size desired by the customer is obtained. - Machinable thicknesses range from a minimum of 0.6 mm to a maximum of 3.0 mm. - Depending on preference, we can splice to run and/or book. - Veneer, in various woods, can also be supplied by the customer.

Plating with polyurethane glue
Using the hot-melt polyurethane system, we can glue on backing panels, materials of different natures to each other: HPL laminates, aluminum sheets, iron, plastics, polyethylene, glass, rubbers, polystyrene, polycarbonates, and so on. Our facility uses single-component Class 3 polyurethane adhesives certified IMO MED (fire rating) and calender pressing that ensures an accurate, defect-free finish. The panel is coated on both sides with polyurethane glue and laminated with the required material. Finally it passes through the rollers of the calendering machine for a few seconds and is ready for use. Before delivery, the panel is put to size according to the customer's specifications. The backing board (plywood, chipboard, MDF or other) can be provided by us or by the customer The material to be coupled is provided by us or the customer.

Plating with veneers
Veneer coating is executed by our skilled staff using last-generation machines, according to the latest standards and technology. The backing board (plywood, chipboard, MDF, or other) is glued on both sides and covered with veneer of various woods. It then passes through the hot press for the time required to fix the gluing. - Before delivery, the panel is squared and sanded. - Machining can also be done with materials supplied by the customer.
