Mirka Dust-free sanding system
Dust-free sanding has been an integral part of Mirka's philosophy for over 20 years. This journey began with the development of Mirka Abranet®, the revolutionary abrasive on mesh that introduced a new approach to sanding. Since then, this vision has gradually expanded to include new abrasives and tools, with a clear and consistent goal: to improve the sanding process. Daily and prolonged exposure to dust is a significant occupational hazard. When working on surfaces, dust can accumulate in the work environment, increasing the risk of occupational diseases and harmful exposure to the lungs and skin. Reducing the amount of dust not only improves air quality, but also protects the health of operators. This is where Mirka Abranet comes in, using a mesh structure instead of the traditional paper backing. This technology allows dust to be extracted directly through the abrasive and the tool, improving processing efficiency, the quality of the final result, and working conditions. Over time, the Abranet product family has been expanded to cover numerous fields of application, while maintaining the principles of effectiveness, safety, and quality that are the basis of Mirka dust-free sanding. Mirka has also developed advanced solutions for dust-free sanding based not only on mesh abrasives, but also on the use of effective vacuum cleaners and tools equipped with integrated dust channels. Using the Mirka system during sanding significantly reduces dust dispersion, making the working environment safer and more controlled.
